Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a HR Generalist.

In this role, the successful candidate reports directly to the Senior HR Business Partner for Corporate Services. Under the supervision of the HRBP, serves as a trusted HR partner to leaders, managers, and employees across Corporate Services within the health system. Provides day-to-day HR guidance and support across a broad range of areas, including employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, employee engagement, organizational changes, and growth and development.
Supports the consistent and effective application of organizational policies, practices, and employment standards. Assists managers in addressing workplace concerns, navigating performance and attendance matters, documenting employee issues, and promoting timely and appropriate resolution of employee relations matters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary contact and provides support and guidance to staff regarding HR-related matters, employee relations issues, and payroll matters. May direct certain issues to the corporate HR departments when needed.
  • Visits corporate service locations across the health system and provides on-site HR support. Establishes relationships with staff in order ensure a positive working environment and compliance with HR policies.
  • Conducts prompt, thorough, accurate, and defensible workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct including but not limited to: harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, etc. Documents information received from employees' complaints/concerns, managing leaves of absences, and filing all employee disciplinary actions received from managers.  Mitigates organizational risk by working closely with Legal and Employee & Labor Relations to ensure policies and procedures are consistently and fairly applied to all employees.
  • Acts as a liaison between supervisors and Compensation. Works with supervisors to update job descriptions based on observation and/or feedback and presents information and background on practice demographics and nuances to Compensation to ensure that proper assessment of salary and title of position occurs.  Ensures information provided by the manager is accurate and clearly reflects accurate responsibilities for the role.  Provides advice and counsel to managers on appropriate structuring of roles and impact of any potential reorganization.
  • Facilitates Lunch & Learn workshops, and other learning opportunities designed to strengthen manager and employee knowledge, skills, and effectiveness.
  • Reviews HR metrics, trends, and sale-force data to identify opportunities for targeted training, education, and employee development initiatives.
  • Partners with Sr.HR Business Partner and department leaders to assess learning and development needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
  • Identifies recurring employee relations and performance management trends and develops or recommends educational resources to proactively address areas of opportunity.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness and participant feedback to identify opportunities to enhance future learning programs.
  • Acts as a partner to leaders and employees in relation to policies and procedures as they relate to complex employee relations.
  • Produce and organize reports as requested by senior management. Analyzes HR data and make recommendations regarding compensation and staffing.
  • Liaise between internal HR departments and corporate services administration.
  • Establishes relationships with employees and is able to address their inquiries regarding benefits and growth opportunities. Is able to provide internal career counseling to employees and assist managers in doing so also.
  • Identifies and understands impact of retention and turnover and works closely with talent acquisition to ensure the needs of the department are met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Minimum of three years progressive experience in two or more HR disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and utilize data to formulate recommendations.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Experience advising managers on employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues.
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and client management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
