Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a HVAC Mechanic - NYU Langone Hospital, Long Island - Evenings.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting in the year-round operation, maintenance and repair of all HVAC - related mechanical systems required for the continuous and uninterrupted operation of NYU Langone - Long Island Hospital. This includes, but is not limited to Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems - (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, packaged rooftop systems, fans, motors, compressors, etc.); temperature control systems (pneumatic and direct-digital control); medical gas systems (supply and distribution); pneumatic tube system; refrigeration equipment and any other system or equipment which falls under the responsibility of the Engineering Department sHVAC Shop.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs repairs to medical gas system equipment and components.
• Able to troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration related problems and issues and perform the necessary repairs or corrective measures.
• Performs repairs to HVAC and refrigeration systems and equipment correctly with attention to detail and no callbacks.
• Demonstrates proficiency and skill in working with various varieties of HVAC equipment, tools and materials.
• Performs Preventive Maintenance as assigned on HVAC andor refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Performs repairs to pneumatic tube system as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 3 - 5 years Experience in the building maintenance or plant operations field, preferablyHealthcare. . Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Technical DiplomaAppropriate Trade/Vocation School Graduate. Current NYS CFC refrigerant license. Valid Medical Gas Installer Certification NewlyHired employees willHave one year from their date ofHire to obtain the Medical Gas Installer certification.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $96,044.43 - $107,321.28 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
