Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience in urgent care or emergency medicine settings. The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare professionals in delivering comprehensive care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during visits.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
- Document patient histories and vital signs accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Manage patient flow within the clinic to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Collaborate with medical staff to provide exceptional patient care in a Level II Trauma Center or similar environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.
- Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine is preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus but not required.
