At Nystrom, our Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a small team of maintenance technicians across both 1st and 2nd shifts while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is not a desk-only leadership position. We are looking for a working supervisor who can lead by example, provide technical expertise on sheet metal fabrication equipment, prioritize maintenance activities, and partner closely with production to maximize safety, quality, and equipment uptime.
Shift: Primarily 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with responsibility for supporting 1st & 2nd Shift maintenance operations. On-call shared responsibilities to cover the weekend shift

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, coach, and support maintenance technicians on both 1st and 2nd shifts.
- Schedule maintenance resources and prioritize work activities to support production demands.
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support during equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Conduct training, performance feedback, and employee development activities.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective communication and work handoffs between shifts.
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Lead & participate in troubleshooting & repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & control systems.
- Support and maintain sheet metal fabrication equipment including:
- Laser cutting systems (Nukon)
- Punch presses and turret presses (Salvagnini, Amada EMK)
- Press brakes and forming equipment (Safan, Shroeder, Trumpf)
- Machine centers (Emmegi)
- Powder coat systems
- Spot welding / welding equipment
- Material handling systems and facility support equipment/utilities
- Perform and oversee preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Respond to equipment downtime and coordinate recovery efforts to minimize production disruptions.
- Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Ensure maintenance work orders and PM activities are completed and documented accurately within the CMMS.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve equipment reliability & performance.
- Monitor maintenance metrics, equipment uptime, and PM completion rates.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
- Help manage spare parts inventory and critical maintenance supplies.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment performance, & overall efficiencies.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures.
- Lead by example in the use of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, hot work permits, and safe maintenance practices.
- Conduct safety observations, audits, and corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work environment.
What You Bring
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of leadership experience as a supervisor, lead technician, or maintenance team lead preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Proven troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
- Experience supporting lasers, presses, forming equipment, welding systems, or similar industrial equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree, certification, or apprenticeship preferred.
- Experience utilizing CMMS systems and maintenance software.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on maintenance responsibilities with team leadership and planning activities.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
