Under the supervision of an Assistant Director Information Technology Services 1, the Manager Information Technology Services 1 in the Digital Transformation Office, Geospatial Services, Data Services will be responsible for overseeing the Orthoimagery, Elevation, and Data Improvement programs while coordinating their activities with other programs in the Section. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Manager Information Technology Services 1, SG27/M2, OR in a position at the SG25 or M1 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades or one M-grade.

Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.

- Confers with higher level managers, subordinates, and users to develop long-term work objectives for data programs, taking into consideration technical, fiscal and staffing resources.
- Defines purpose, scope and objectives of short-term and long-range projects, including participation in bureau-wide discussions of appropriate assignments.
- Works with counterparts within the Bureau to ensure compatibility of initiatives and acquisitions with the Sections needs and goals.
- Assigns work to subordinate supervisors. Monitors project progress, reviews major staff initiatives and products, and makes recommendations as appropriate.
- Guides the development of procedures, standards and internal controls. Monitors compliance and takes appropriate action as needed.
- Provides status updates to Bureau management.
- Prepares the budget for the Section or provides information needed for its preparation.
- Keeps abreast of new geospatial technologies and innovations and proposes implementation to improve Section processes.
- Assists Bureau management with bureau-wide activities, as needed.
- Performs the full range of supervisory duties.
