Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Roller Operator for the upcoming peak season. You will be responsible for operating steel-drum and/or pneumatic rollers to compact asphalt to specific thicknesses and smoothness requirements. This is a critical role in ensuring the longevity and aesthetic quality of our paving projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Precision Operation: Operate various rollers (breakdown, intermediate, and finish rolling) to achieve required density and a smooth, mark-free surface.
- Site Awareness: Work closely with the Paving Foreman and Screed Operator to follow the paving plan and maintain the correct rolling pattern.
- Equipment Care: Conduct daily pre-shift inspections, maintain fluid levels, and ensure the machine is kept clean and in good working order.
- Safety First: Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain constant communication with ground crew to ensure a safe work zone.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating asphalt rollers in a paving environment.
- Technical Skill: Solid understanding of rolling patterns, asphalt temperatures, and how to prevent "checking" or shoving.
- Reliability: Must have dependable transportation to our Everett shop or various job sites and the ability to work long hours during peak season.
- Team Player: A positive attitude and the willingness to jump off the machine and help the ground crew when needed.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
