Position Summary
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team at Gateway Vista. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement individualized therapy treatment plans that help residents regain independence, improve daily living skills, and enhance quality of life. This role plays a key part in supporting rehabilitation, restorative care, and wellness within our community.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Assist in developing, carrying out, and documenting resident treatment plans and progress.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, adaptive equipment, and strategies to improve independence.
- Monitor residents’ responses to treatment and communicate changes to the Occupational Therapist.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive resident-centered care.
- Promote a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through NBCOT.
- Active state licensure in Nebraska as a COTA.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing, rehab, or senior living setting preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
