Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menus.
- Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with dietary guidelines, resident preferences, and nutritional requirements.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment.
- Assist in meal service and ensure timely preparation and delivery of food.
- Monitor food inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after meal preparation.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with dietary aides and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Accommodate special dietary requests and modify meals as necessary for residents with specific needs.
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience as a cook preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification is a plus).
- Ability to follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and dietary restrictions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
