Position Summary
The Certified Medication Aide is responsible for safely and accurately administering medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and facility policies. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality care, supporting residents with daily needs, and ensuring a calm, caring environment during the overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer oral, topical, and inhaled medications as assigned and per physician orders.
- Accurately document medication administration, refusals, and resident responses.
- Report changes in resident condition to the charge nurse promptly.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) during overnight hours as needed.
- Perform safety checks, rounds, and monitoring per facility protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized medication cart and medication room.
- Ensure compliance with all state regulations regarding medication administration and resident care.
- Provide compassionate, respectful interactions supporting resident dignity.
- Active 40-hour Certified Medication Aide license in the state of Nebraska in good standing.
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration.
- Ability to work independently and remain attentive throughout the night.
