Position Summary: The Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality (TRQ) is responsible for the recruitment of diverse and talented teachers to meet the staffing needs of New York Public Schools (NYCPS) and programs, as well as being responsible for initiatives to promote the equitable and quality distribution of teachers across all schools. NYCPS anticipates a need to increase recruitment and training for new teachers, in order to meet the hiring demands presented by the new class size mandates and to ensure teacher quality as the number of teachers hired into the system grows. Increasing the number of eligible teacher candidates is a critical part of the path for NYCPS to remain in compliance with the class size mandate.
