Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of deli items, including slicing meats and cheeses, assembling sandwiches, and maintaining fresh product displays
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, offering recommendations and upselling products to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS accurately for transactions including cash handling and credit card payments
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning work areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure product freshness by monitoring expiration dates and rotating stock appropriately
- Assist with food handling procedures, including proper packaging, labeling, and storage of deli products
- Support other team members with tasks like bussing tables or assisting in the kitchen to ensure smooth daily operations
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service roles within quick service or fast-food restaurants is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining professionalism
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
