The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.
Division Description
The Division of Administration provides a wide range of support services throughout ACS to ensure all Divisions receive adequate and efficient support services to carry out their respective missions. The Division of Administration (Admin) employs approximately 463 public employees. Admin manages a Personnel Services (PS) Budget of approximately $29M and an Other Than Personnel Services (OTPS) Budget (OTPS) of $140M. It provides services including building maintenance, real estate, design, construction management, facilities and custodial services, occupational safety and health, operational support, security, transportation, and print production.
Unit Description
The Supply Chain and Compliance Unit within the Division of Administration is responsible for the provision of selected goods and services to ACS’ families and children in care and youth residents in our secured detention centers. The team supports and facilitates requests from other ACS divisions, including the Division of Youth & Family Justice, (DYFJ) the Division of Child Protection (DCP), the Nicholas Scoppetta Children’s Center (NSCC) and the Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) to provide critical goods and services, including but not limited to clothing, cribs, beds, commissary, heavy duty cleaning services, window guards and lock changes to ACS’ families, youth and children in care.
The Institutional Aide enables ACS to provide clothing, personal hygiene items, shoes, etc. to Youth Residents by accurate ordering and inventory and preventing shortages. This position will assist in a variety of administrative tasks throughout the Crossroads property room areas.
The primary duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Maintain accurate records, documenting information both physically and digitally.
- Receive, store, care for, and distribute clothing items and supplies.
- Prepare neat, accurate written inventories; ensure supplies remain at adequate levels and complete inventories on schedule.
- Review, sign, and process requisitions to confirm they are properly completed.
- Sort linens correctly and coordinate pickups within prescribed deadlines.
- Pack, unpack, count, weigh, and measure materials and supplies with precision.
- Clean and organize storage, supply, and linen rooms, and handle soiled linens appropriately.
- Coordinate with vendors to accept or reject deliveries according to quality and compliance standards.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently at pickup, delivery, or distribution points.
- Ensure that the loading and unloading of equipment is done safely and effectively.
