Nyad is a venture-backed startup modernizing how the world manages wastewater. Thousands of plants still run on clipboards, guesswork, and manual microscopes. When decisions slip, pollution spikes and costs explode. With expert operators retiring in a “silver tsunami,” we’re closing the knowledge gap with software: real-time image analysis, process recommendations, and AI models of microbial health. Biology meets machine learning in one of the least digitized (and most essential) sectors on Earth.

Why this role matters

We’re looking for our first creative, a designer who sees no line between UX, UI, and brand. You’ll define the entire creative foundation: from our app’s first pixel to our website’s voice, from our logo to our launch visuals.

You’ll work directly with the founders to shape how the world experiences Nyad — visually, emotionally, and functionally.

What you’ll do

• Lead product design: user research, wireframes, visual systems, interaction design.

• Create and evolve the brand system: logo, palette, type, tone, imagery.

• Design and ship marketing sites, decks, and campaign visuals.

• Develop creative standards for storytelling, from photography to copywriting.

• Prototype, test, and refine designs based on real user feedback.

Who you are

• A full-stack designer — you think about systems but sweat the pixels.

• You’ve led or owned the design for a product, company, or major launch.

• You love translating complex ideas into intuitive visuals.

• You care about clarity, impact, and emotional resonance.

• You believe great design drives adoption and trust.

Bonus points

• Experience with storytelling, motion, or creative direction.

• Experience working with AI or data-rich products.

• Comfort with light coding, video, or photography.
