JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Make a professional, courteous first impression on patients new to the medical office by registering, aiding, and assisting with any problems involved in the registration process.
- Organizing patient flow based on doctor’s needs
- Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room
- Assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens & preparing for exam, etc.
- Collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines and assisting Physicians/PA's with various procedures
- Enter all MIPs information/Scribe into EMR for all patients on daily basis
- Pull injections and DME
- Relaying instructions to patients/families
- Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols
- Cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program
- Keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms
- Position requires coverage for other locations on an as needed basis
- FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE DESIRED; hours vary
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) AND Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution. Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for specific specialty if working in specialty department; e.g., pediatric medical assistant exam.
QUALIFICATIONS:
****MA CERTIFIED PREFERRED****
*General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.
*Excellent interpersonal skills.
*Ability to handle high stress, busy work environment.
*Knowledge of Word, Excel & Outlook Required.
*Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes preferred.
*Previous Ortho experience a plus.
*Knowledge of athenaHealth a plus.
*Pleasant, professional, and articulate phone skills.
*Ability to interact with patients, other staff including physicians and PAs.
*Previous medical office experience a plus.

Hours:6:30a-4p, 9a-6p, 8a-5p, 7a-5p—changes depending on schedule/day of week.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
