Job Description for Director of Prototyping and New Product Introduction

Job Summary

NY Creates is seeking applicants for a Director of Prototyping and New Product Introduction. The Director of Prototyping and New Product Introduction will provide professional level oversight of the Technology Products at the Creates Albany Nanotech complex. This is a leadership position establishing New Product Introduction (NPI) execution flow for prototyping programs. This position provides solutions in current baseline and EUV based integrated process install for Creates internal and partnership initiatives.

This position also will build up defining and enabling the most cost-effective custom fabrication of Creates products; selection and design of relevant technology flow licensing to build capabilities at the Creates facilities; NPI installation, yield ramp, sustaining, of such technology flows; and technology transfer of successful prototypes to the manufacturing environment.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build a chip tape out flow and execution for Creates Technology NPI
  • Preparation of MPW assembly layout, design for necessary customized flow, lead integration installation, characterizing systematic yield loss for technology ramp, and monitoring Health of Line that support joint development partner engagements within the Creates cleanroom facilities.
  • Provide solutions in real time and towards future growth and transfer of Creates programs including Creates internal strategic initiatives, lab-to-fab prototyping partners.
  • Coordinate multiple technology teams and participate in the execution for foundry partners.
  • Interface closely with the technology development, operations and facilities teams to realize Creates technology and fab partner growth. Focus on stable Health of Line (HOL) and Process of Record (POR) offerings. Lead execution of Multi-project Wafer (MPW) capabilities as part of NPI.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in engineering, product ramp, or related field, plus 10 years of experience in Engineering, or related field in a manufacturing or semiconductor fab environment
  • Or bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field, plus 15 years of experience in Engineering, or related field in a manufacturing or semiconductor fab environment
  • Strong experience with semiconductor product ramp and technology transfer.
  • Experience with the management of large teams in support of engineering, integration, yield, and joint development activities
  • Experience in, MPW tap out and New Product Introduction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to include clear, concise, and accurate delivery
  • Ability to work well in a variety of situations, solving complex problems in a multiple stakeholder environment

This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.

Preferred Requirements

  • PhD in Engineering or related field
  • 20 years of experience in development engineering and technology ramp up

Salary Range: $200,000 - $231,000

  • Posted salary ranges re determined upon experience and education.
