Youth Soccer Coach (U9-U12)

Youth Soccer Coach (U9-U12 Travel Teams) | Mechanicsville, VA

$3,500 per team, per season. Coach up to 2 teams. Additional paid hours available through camps and our academy program. No coaching license required to apply, we pay for your licensing.

NXT SC is a growing youth soccer club in Mechanicsville serving the greater Richmond area. One badge, one pathway, one standard. We are building something players and coaches are proud to be part of, and we are hiring 3 coaches for our U9-U12 travel teams for the upcoming season.

What you will do:

- Lead 2 training sessions per week (weekday evenings) for your team

- Coach games on weekends, primarily in the Richmond region with some travel

- Follow the NXT development curriculum. You focus on coaching, we handle the methodology, session plans, and admin

- Communicate with parents through our team app. No late-night phone calls, no chasing payments, the club office handles all of that

- Represent the club with the standard we expect: on time, prepared, positive with kids

What you get:

- $2,500 to $5,000 per team, per season, based on experience and licensing

- The option to coach a second team and roughly double your seasonal pay- Extra paid hourly work through camps, clinics, and our Advanced Development Program

- Your coaching license paid for by the club (US Soccer Grassroots and beyond)- A real advancement path: we intend to move at least one of these hires into a full-time staff coach role within 6 months

- Coach education, mentorship from our directors, and a club that actually invests in its coaches

Who we are looking for:

- You have played the game at a competitive level (high school, club, college, or beyond) or have prior coaching experience

- You are reliable. Kids and parents can set their watch by you

- You are coachable yourself. You will follow a club-wide methodology and take feedback- You genuinely like working with 8 to 12 year olds. This age group is about development and love of the game, not trophies

- You are available weekday evenings and weekends and have reliable transportation

- You can pass a background check (required, we work with minors)

Nice to have, not required:

- US Soccer Grassroots license or higher (if you do not have one, we will pay for it)

- Experience with the 7v7 and 9v9 game formats

- Bilingual English/Spanish

About the full-time path:

This is not an empty line in a job ad. NXT SC is expanding its programs in Virginia and we need a full-time staff coach within the next 6 months. That person will almost certainly come from this hiring class. If you want coaching to be your career and not your side gig, tell us that in your application and show us on the field.
