About the Role
Our client is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative product engineering team in New York City.
This is a high-ownership role for an engineer who enjoys building customer-facing products, solving complex technical problems, and working closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders.
The right person will be comfortable owning features end-to-end, contributing across the frontend and backend, mentoring other engineers, and stepping into product thinking when needed to make sure the team ships high-quality solutions.
What You'll Do
- Build full-stack product features that improve user experience, reliability, and customer value
- Work closely with product management, design, and engineering stakeholders
- Own features from planning and architecture through development, deployment, iteration, and optimization
- Solve complex technical challenges across frontend, backend, data, and product workflows
- Maintain a high quality bar in a fast-paced, iterative engineering environment
- Step into product management-style responsibilities when needed to clarify scope and drive execution
- Participate in code reviews, technical planning, performance optimization, and deployment processes
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and help raise the engineering bar across the team
- Build user-centric solutions for customers managing security and compliance workflows
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of professional software development experience
- Strong full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend systems
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and a modern backend language such as Ruby, Python, or JavaScript
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and software engineering principles
- Experience building customer-facing SaaS products
- Strong product instincts and a desire to understand customer impact
- Ability to own work from concept through deployment
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift quickly
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across product, design, and engineering
- A craftsmanship mindset with a desire to keep improving technically
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Rails, PostgreSQL, or Elasticsearch
- Prior startup experience as a founder, early employee, or high-ownership builder
- Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, GRC, audit, risk, or enterprise SaaS
- Experience mentoring junior or intermediate engineers
- Comfort working in hybrid, highly collaborative team environments
