Office Assistant / Construction Office Coordinator

About Us
Nxt Gen Excavating is a growing excavation company focused on residential and commercial site work. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented office assistant to help streamline our daily operations and support our financial and project management systems.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for someone with construction office experience who is comfortable handling data entry, job costing support, and administrative tasks. You will work directly with ownership to help manage the day-to-day financial and operational workload.
This position plays a key role in helping improve efficiency and accuracy across all active projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily data entry for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Enter and manage transactions in Sage 100 Contractor
- Assist with job cost tracking across multiple projects
- Update and maintain project data in Buildertrend
- Track and log equipment hours to the correct jobs and cost codes
- Organize and maintain job and financial records
- Assist with general bookkeeping and administrative tasks
Requirements
- Previous experience in a construction office environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle high volumes of data entry with accuracy
- Willingness to learn and understand company-specific cost codes
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping/accounting principles
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve when entering financial data
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Experience with Sage 100 Contractor
- Experience with Buildertrend
- Familiarity with job costing and cost codes
