NXP is offering an exceptional opportunity for a talented and curious business attorney to engage with some of the most dynamic legal challenges in an international high-tech environment. As a Senior Commercial Attorney on the Commercial Legal Support team, you will play a critical role in supporting NXP’s global business operations, primarily advising on customer-facing matters, including sales agreements and software licensing. You will be responsible for independently negotiating complex commercial transactions, advising internal clients, and delivering practical, business-oriented legal solutions. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where senior attorneys are trusted to independently drive complex negotiations, exercise judgment, and shape commercial outcomes. Key Responsibilities Independently lead contract negotiations and draft a variety of commercial agreements with customers and suppliers. Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues related to software licensing, product sales, legal claims and purchasing. Shape and advise on software licensing strategies, including novel licensing models and evolving customer use cases. Advise senior business, sales, and technical leaders on high-value, time-sensitive commercial transactions. Collaborate regularly with colleagues in the Legal Department and across global business units. Hybrid work model: minimum 3 days per week in the Austin, Texas office; up to 2 days remote. Occasional travel required. Qualifications Law degree from an accredited university; admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction. 10 years of relevant legal experience, ideally within a law firm or an in-house legal department of a multinational corporation. Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, including product sales and purchasing contracts. Strong background in software licensing transactions and legal issues. Proven ability to lead contract negotiations involving parties across multiple jurisdictions. Experience with regulatory matters relating to the semiconductor industry is a plus. Key Attributes Confident, proactive, and highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.
