Specialist I (National Account Manager)

Responsibilities

National Account Manager / Freight Broker needs to be a highly energetic and self-motivated person that will have the competencies of typical successful sales professionals: prospecting, qualifying, negotiating and closing skills with a strong desire to sell loads.

• Source OTR and IMDL carrier capacity to ensure timely delivery of customer freight.
• Develop ongoing carrier relationships without relying solely on load boards.
• Ability to manage pricing negotiations and obstacles with carriers.
• Qualify carriers and identify capabilities.
• Study and understand market trends and seasonality.
• Establish relationships with customer sales and customers to expand business.
• Managing & servicing our customer accounts.
• Support management and staff in assigned project-based work.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• This position may require availability on nights and weekends as needed.
  
  

Salary: $65,000 - $68,000 annually

This salary range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.  At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred or relevant experience
• 2 to 5 years experience in freight brokerage
• Strong negotiation skills
• Competitive personality
• Experience in using TMS, Freight Brokerage Applications (DAT, Carrier 411, etc.)
• Highly driven, enthusiastic, and motivated
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Quick study
• Strong multitasker
• Problem solver
• Strong Organizational, Mathematical and Analytical Skills
