Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks
- Safely operate trucks including dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, for transporting materials and waste
- Support concrete work by forming, placing and finishing, with hand and power tools to ensure quality and efficient project outcomes
- Maintain equipment by conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and reporting repairs needed
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with all construction site regulations
- Assist with site preparation activities such as clearing land, leveling surfaces, and setting up work zones
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment usage efficiently and meet project deadlines
Experience
- Proven construction site experience operating heavy machinery in a fast-paced environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL is preferred but not required ) with experience driving heavy trucks such as dump trucks, water trucks, or tanker trucks
- Hands-on experience with specific equipment like dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and front loader trucks
- Familiarity with farm machinery and operations is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
- Ability to read technical manuals and follow operational procedures accurately
