Quality Inspector - Swing Shift - NWI Defense, Albany, OR
SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector is responsible for the highest of standards are designed and upheld at NWI Defense. This is to ensure our products exceeds customer’s expectations. The ideal candidate has a natural aptitude for sustainable solutions to problems and applies them to inspection techniques. Needs to be self-starter and be able to complete tasks with minimal support on off shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect machined and forged product per defined Quality processes and inspection documentation using both CMM instruments and hand-held measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gage, ect.)
- Complete inspections for First Part Inspection activities
- Provide input for inspection techniques and plans
- Read and interpret customer drawings that include GD&T and multi-level Bills of Materials
- Perform advanced manual inspections with gauging tools and perform visual product Inspections as required by production
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
- Help maintain calibration system and perform calibration on tools per internal processes
- Provide information to Quality Manager in making the final decision on product acceptance
- Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Must be able to use common inspection gages and perform measurements to verify product conformance. (Micrometer, calipers, height gage etc.)
- Ability to identify visual defects to a standard.
- Be proficient at using Microsoft applications for word processing, spreadsheet, and collaborative communication.
QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience with use of a full range of precision measuring equipment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School education or equivalent. 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Experience working and running CMMs preferred
- Experience using various hand tools for inspection. (micrometers, calipers, height gage, ect.)
- Pass an eye exam, with corrective lens (requirements in quality system, need to be able to inspect product)
