Maintenance Technician II / Boiler Operator

Northwest Hardwoods is the premier Hardwood Lumber producer in the industry serving furniture, cabinet, and molding and millwork segments worldwide. We operate manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. We have immediate openings for a full time Maintenance Technician II / Boiler Operator.
Key Functions & Responsibilities:
Able to meet the required skills of a Maintenance Technician I plus the following:
- A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician is required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.
- Shall follow safety policies and procedures and perform all work according to existing policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of quality and workmanship in performing the duties.
- Working knowledge of safety practices common to industry including LOTO (OSHA Lockout/Tagout program) Arc Flash is an added advantage.
- Electrical skills
- Basic welding skills
- PLC experience is an added advantage
- Where applicable, various fueled fired boiler operations
- Understanding of Industrial hydraulics, pneumatic systems and pumps.
- Good working knowledge of belts, pulleys and sprocket drive systems
- Conducts routine daily maintenance/cleaning of boiler equipment.
- Inspects equipment before and after every shift and reports any concerns to Management promptly.
- Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.

- Work as part of the maintenance team to correct and enhance plant operations for the continued success of Northwest Hardwoods. Have a strong desire, dedication and determination to succeed, by continually improving skills through on the job training and various offered educational opportunities
- Must follow all established safety policies. Must have good safety record and a positive, can do attitude.
- Be adaptable, work where needed as required
- Willing to ask questions if there is a lack of understanding.
- Must be able to work any shift -- overtime, weekends, holidays as required and in all conditions.
- Capable of doing required documentation legibly like down time reports.
- Able to work as a team, get along with team members; give and take advice and criticism from other team members; good team attitude.
- Have a strong desire to learn and the dedication and determination to succeed.
