Position Summary:
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Must follow and promote safety policies and procedures and perform all work according to existing policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of quality and workmanship in performing the duties.
- Working knowledge of all mechanical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical
- Understanding of lock out/tag out
- Ability to lubricate machinery.
- Ability to complete simple projects (changing bearings, sprockets, and chains).
- Basic welding skills.
- Pipe fitting knowledge, able to thread and fit a pipe.
- Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
- Have a strong desire, dedication, and determination to succeed, by continually improving skills through on-the-job training and various offered educational opportunities.
- Adhere to company safety rules and procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, rolling stock and building and grounds.
- Assist other team members as needed
- All other duties as assigned
