Superintendent – Commercial (Ground-Up)

Our client, reputable general contractor is looking for a Superintendent to join their team. In this role, you will oversee all on-site operations for ground-up commercial projects, managing execution from site work through final completion. You will coordinate subcontractors, drive the schedule, and ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans and specifications. As the on-site leader, you will maintain productivity, enforce safety standards, and deliver high-quality results.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven professional with strong organizational skills and proven experience delivering ground-up commercial construction projects.
Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Direct all on-site construction activities from start to finish.
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor project schedules and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines.
- Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Lead daily huddles, safety meetings, and coordination sessions with trade partners.
- Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily logs, reports, and inspections.
- Manage site logistics, sequencing, and overall jobsite efficiency.
- Oversee punch list completion and project closeout activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to support successful project delivery.
Superintendent Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in ground-up commercial construction with a general contractor.
- Demonstrated experience delivering commercial projects in the $15M range.
- Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong leadership presence with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, and building systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Flexibility to travel or be based on project sites as needed.
