Legal Assistant – Landlord-Tenant/Probate
Everett, WA
Join our client—a mission-driven, client-centered law firm advocating for tenants and buyers in real estate, housing and probate matters. They're hiring a Legal Assistant who can confidently support fast-paced litigation—owning case organization, managing deadlines, and keeping matters moving from initial filing through resolution. They are open to candidates with either strong Landlord/Tenant experience or strong Probate experience.
Legal Assistant Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file legal documents such as eviction notices, pleadings, motions, rent demand letters and/or estate administration documents.
- Maintain case files, track deadlines, and support high-volume litigation workflows
- Communicate with internal staff, clients, property managers, process servers, and court staff
- Conduct research on housing and probate laws and local regulations and/or working knowledge of probate terminology, procedures and local court rules
- Assist with hearing and trial preparation, including exhibits and case summaries
- Support rent collection efforts, including garnishments and levy documentation and/or experience handling sensitive estate documents
Legal Assistant Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of litigation experience, including exposure to landlord-tenant, real estate or probate matters.
- Strong understanding of eviction procedures and housing court processes, familiarity with real estate purchase and sale transactions and/or knowledge of probate procedures.
- Solid practice management skills and ability to support attorneys across multiple active matters.
- Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate (ABA-approved program preferred).
- Tech-savvy, with experience using e-filing systems, case management software (e.g., Clio), Microsoft Office, and AI-enabled tools.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and proven ability to manage deadlines effectively.

Compensation: $60,000-$70,000/annually
