NW Industrial Staffing is partnering with a state-of-the-art sheet metal fabrication facility in Eugene to hire an experienced leader to run outbound shipping and dock operations. A day in the life
- Kick off the morning with a team huddle, align priorities, and set the shipping schedule for the day.
- Oversee loading activities and operate a forklift as needed, ensuring safe, efficient movement of finished goods.
- Verify orders in shipping and inventory systems, coordinate with production, and confirm quality standards are met before release.
- Coach, train, and mentor team members; manage schedules, performance, and help resolve conflicts.
- Maintain accurate counts of materials and finished goods; review and distribute daily shipping reports and documentation.
- Monitor safety practices, uphold OSHA compliance, and ensure required employee training is completed.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and arrange maintenance to keep the dock and warehouse running smoothly.
What you bring
- At least 2 years of forklift operation experience.
- 2 years leading teams in warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing settings.
- Hands-on skill with inventory control, cycle counts, and documentation accuracy.
- Experience using shipping and inventory management systems.
- Working knowledge of QA practices to ensure product meets company standards.
- Ability to train, coach, and implement continuous improvement.
- Basic maintenance/troubleshooting ability for warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations, including OSHA safety and employee training requirements.
- Strength in scheduling, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to assist with other duties that keep the department moving.
Role details
- Location: Eugene, OR
- Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday
- Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Pay: $24/hour to start, up to $25/hour
