**NW Industrial Staffing **is recruiting a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic for a family-owned and operated Sawmill that is known as a leader in premier Douglas Fir timbers and high-quality lumber products. This is an evaluation to hire or a direct hire for a fleet of log loaders, Hysters and lifts, man-lifts, cranes, small engine devices, and other wheeled vehicles.
**What we are seeking: **
- 2 to 5 years of experience as a hands-on Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, preferably with experience in forestry or sawmill equipment.
- Someone with a firm knowledge base of diesel, gasoline, and propane-fueled engines.
- Good understanding and experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, air and drum brakes, and electrical systems, both 12V and 24V.
- Previous experience performing routine maintenance and maintenance logs on all vehicles, including fluid changes, filter replacements, brake replacements, and lubricants.
- Troubleshooting skills, both computerized and mechanical diagnostics.
- Ability to perform repairs or replace defective systems, including engines, braking systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and ignition systems.
- Great verbal and written communication for explaining vehicle issues and maintaining machinery ledgers.
- Competence in driving Heavy Equipment to ascertain a diagnostic and test a repaired vehicle.
- Proficient in tracking and maintaining inventory of parts and tools
- Must have own tools.
- **A clean driving record and license (Commercial License is preferred) **
- Someone safety and compliance-minded
- Must be able to lift 50lbs on occasion and stand, stoop, bend, push, pull, crawl, and walk for an 8 to 10-hour shift.
- Great attitude, attendance, and work ethic.
**JOB DETAILS: **
Location: Cottage Grove, OR
Shift: DAYS
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 7AM to 3:30 PM
Wage: $25./h to $30h (DOE)
