Position Overview:

A full or part time pre-licensed Child and Family Therapist will provide outpatient individual, family and
group therapy to clients of NCA. Clinical therapy services include mental health assessment, treatment
planning and service delivery. NCA is looking for clinicians with a passion for working with youth, who are
committed not only to supporting the growth of their clients but also to their own clinical development, who
are social justice minded and ready to be part of a dynamic, fun and collaborative team.

Reports to: Heather Vliet, LPC - NCA Director

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide both on-site and remote teletherapy service to clients of NCA, as scheduled and in
accordance to company policies.
  • Reliable and timely attendance, whether on-site or remote
  • Participate fully in both individual and group supervision
  • Maintain status as a registered associate in good standing with the relevant Oregon state
licensing board, abiding by all laws, rules, regulations and codes of ethics
  • Establish positive, trusting relationships with clients and their families.
  • Demonstrates cultural responsiveness and sensitivity.
  • Respond to client communications reliably and in a timely manner.
  • Assess, diagnose and treat mental health disorders utilizing DSM-5-TR criteria.
  • Create individualized treatment plans to meet the needs of clients and their families.
  • Meet with clients consistently to provide counseling services and adjust treatment plans as
necessary.
  • Maintain records of each contact or service and complete documentation in a thorough and timely
manner.
  • Conduct and document ongoing assessments of client progress.
  • Communicate with supportive others in the client’s life as appropriate, including schools, primary
care physicians and other systems.
  • Involve family and supportive others in therapy, consultation and coaching as appropriate in order
to support clients.
  • Refer clients to outside specialists or agencies when clinically indicated.
  • Follow all safety protocols, policies and procedures and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Assess for suicide and safety risk and create and monitor safety agreements as needed.
  • Participate in NCA’s Feedback Informed Treatment initiatives and utilize standardized screening
tools.
  • Participate productively in team meetings and monthly committee meetings
  • Proactively manage caseload (i.e. timely discharge of clients who have completed care,
communication of availability for intakes, follow up on client no shows or late cancellations)
  • Engage clients effectively and professionally in teletherapy sessions from a secure and

confidential environment if not in the physical offices of NCA

Work Hours & Benefits: This position is a hybrid position which allows the clinician to keep both office
hours for in person sessions and work remotely for teletherapy sessions. A consistent schedule will be
established between the clinician and NCA which differentiates between office vs remote days and hours.
When at NCA, the clinician will have use of a furnished office space.

Full time employment is based on a 36-hour work week in which an average of 22 direct service hours are
billed. Most clinicians at NCA choose to work a 4-day work week. Clinicians are salaried and paid once a
month per NCA’s current payroll schedule.

Benefits: Full time clinicians become eligible for the benefit program on the first of the month following a
30-day probationary period of continuous employment.

Therapist Qualifications/Skills:

  • Training in evidence-based interventions for children, teens and families
  • Effective use of supervision and consultation in clinical practice
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Positive contributor in group and team interactions
  • Inspired to learn and grow in their clinical practice

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
  • Relevant clinical work experience and references
  • Currently registered with the state licensing board as professional counselor associate
