What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workforce Administration Supervisor position at NVR Inc?
As our Workforce Administration Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team which supports the plant in the areas of recruiting, retention, payroll & benefits administration, and other administrative functions. This role will interact with plant leadership, production employees, Building Products Workforce Development, and Human Resources.
This role is located in our Thurmont, Maryland plant.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise a department of administrative personnel in the completion of their daily job responsibilities, to ensure timely and accurate support to leadership and hourly employees.
- Lead and mentor assigned administrative personnel. Conduct regular coaching sessions to engage, coach, and provide feedback and professional development. Ensure department is properly staffed and work with management to make hiring and termination decisions.
- Participate in hourly workforce planning with plant leadership to meet facility goals and objectives.
- Manage the plant hourly recruiting process, ensuring a robust and compliant hiring process for candidates and plant leadership. Source qualified candidates by determining the most effective recruiting sources and coordinating with external staffing and advertising providers as appropriate.
- Administer hourly postings and candidate progression through NVR’s applicant tracking system.
- Oversee and ensure timely execution of administrative processes such as payroll reporting, personnel changes, new hire orientations, leave of absence administration, performance review tracking, plant-wide correspondence, newsletters, etc.
- Recommend and support the implementation of retention initiatives to ensure the plant is able to maintain staffing levels and facilitate a positive workplace culture.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support targeted recruiting campaigns and onsite hiring events.
- Ensure compliance with all rules, policies and procedures for administrative functions and employee records. Review applicable reports and spreadsheets on a regular basis.
- Coordinate communications and activities during annual internal audits.
- Assist with the administration of various plant safety metrics and record keeping.
- Work with Building Products and corporate Human Resources to ensure alignment with NVR’s policies, processes and legal requirements.
- Provide support to the plant in scheduling and coordinating plant functions and trainings, which may include safety training, corporate trainings, lunches, etc.
- Schedule plant focus groups and facilitate, as needed. Track and consolidate feedback, provide recommendations to plant leadership, and assist in following up on action items.
- Complete special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years’ administrative experience, including at least 2 years’ progressive leadership experience. Preference will be given to candidates having administrative experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
· Bachelor’s or Associate degree strongly preferred
· Experience handling confidential information
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated coaching abilities
· Fluent in MS Office tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
· Experience with timekeeping and/or HRIS systems
· Excellent problem-analysis, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
· Experience working with cross functional teams and a demonstrated commitment to Customer Service
· Outstanding reliability, with strong planning and organizational skills
· Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines
· Able to cross train, and to travel to other NVR plants and locations, as needed
