Veterinary Technician
Gregg Animal Hospital – Columbia, SC
Gregg Animal Hospital is looking to add experienced Veterinary Technicians to our small animal veterinary team in Columbia, South Carolina. We are looking for skilled technicians who enjoy hands-on patient care, supporting veterinary procedures, and working in a collaborative veterinary hospital environment.
This role is ideal for a veterinary technician who wants to utilize their technical skills in surgery, anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care while continuing to grow in their career.
Veterinary Technician Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with patient exams and treatments
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and lab sample collection
- Run in-house diagnostic testing and laboratory work
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and maintain sterile surgical areas
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Record and maintain accurate medical records
- Provide client education and discharge instructions
- Support daily hospital workflow and patient care
Veterinary Technician Qualifications
- Previous veterinary technician or vet assistant experience preferred
- Experience with surgery support and anesthesia monitoring
- Strong animal handling and patient care skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary hospital
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Willingness to learn and grow in veterinary medicine
