We are a full-service animal hospital that will take both emergency cases as well as less urgent medical, surgical, and dental issues. During your externship, you will have the ability to gain critical exposure to basic surgical and dental procedures, along with proficiency in basic examinations and development of practical differential diagnoses. Client and staff communications along with appropriate medical record keeping techniques will be emphasized as well. In addition to the mentioned procedures, our extern program can offer unique exposure to the following:
• Ortho-cruciate
(external stabilization techniques)
• Medial Patellar Luxation Surgery
• Long Bone Fractures
• All types of Amputations
• Several Soft Tissue Surgeries (Enterotomies, gastrotomy, cystotomies, intestinal anastomoses, perineal urethrostomy, anal gland removal)
• Ophthalmology
• Tonopen
• Grid Keratectomy procedures
• Third Eyelid Flaps for Indolent Ulcers
• Cherry Eye Tack Down Procedure
• Dental X-Ray
• Oral Tumor Removals
• Dermatology
• Wound Repair
