Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES), part of Ethos Veterinary Health, is excited to introduce a brand-new Urgent Care Veterinarian opportunity designed for doctors who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy practicing high-quality medicine with the support of an experienced emergency and specialty team.
Whether you're coming from general practice and looking for something more exciting, or you're interested in exploring emergency medicine without jumping directly into high-acuity ER, this position offers the perfect balance of autonomy, support, and professional growth.
Why This Role is Different
This isn't your typical urgent care position.
You'll focus on managing lower-acuity (Tier 3) emergency cases during our busiest hours, allowing our emergency clinicians to concentrate on the hospital's most critical patients. Every shift, you'll be supported by a dedicated veterinary technician and technician assistant while working alongside experienced emergency doctors and specialists who are readily available for collaboration.
Most importantly, this role is designed to grow with you.
While previous emergency experience is not required, we welcome veterinarians who are curious about emergency medicine and may one day want to transition into an ER role. There is absolutely no expectation to make that move—but if your interests evolve, we'll be here to support your development every step of the way.
