About the Job:As Veterinary Technician/Assistant at AMSC you will be responsible for:
- Providing excellent client service at all times.
- Admitting patients and managing clients throughout their visit.
- Partnering with the DVM's to provide excellent medical care by way of assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
- Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and free fluid.
- Upholding an accurate and efficient digital medical record of all patient care.
- Surgery Assistance:
- Prepare surgical suite and ensure it is safe, sanitary, organized and prepared for surgical procedures. Ensure that all equipment, instruments, tools, and dressing are sterile and prepared for surgery.
- Knowledge of all surgical tools and equipment and ability to perform the use of such equipment.
- Assist DVM in surgery by way of ability and knowledge of all tools, instruments and equipment and ability to follow the instruction of the DVM.
- Ensure the safety of the patient at all times and accurately record levels, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc. Ability to administer anesthesia in the most accurate and safest possible manner.
- Monitoring and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.
- About You:
- The candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant required.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to develop and foster long term positive working relationships with the team, clients, and the community.
- Work well independently and in a team environment where colleagues lead by example and hold themselves accountable for quality medicine and client service.
- Strong computer skills to work with a paperless information system.
- Flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and good time-management skills to work in a fast-pace environment.
