Student Externs Will Receive Strong Mentorship And Training In
Students will work closely with supervising DVMs to gain hands-on experience in:
Externship Duration
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.
Eligibility & Stipend
All clinical year DVM students (from an accredited university program) completing at least a 2-week externship will receive a $1,500 travel/living expense stipend.

- We use an Ezyvet and Smartflow paperless integrated hospital management system.
Student Externs Will Receive Strong Mentorship And Training In
- Surgery – including orthopedic procedures
- Dentistry
- Feline medicine
- Wellness and preventative medicine
- Special health services not provided elsewhere in the county
Students will work closely with supervising DVMs to gain hands-on experience in:
- Gathering patient histories
- Performing physical examinations
- Creation of treatment plans
- Diagnostics
- Dentistry services
- Observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures
- Medical management of patients
