What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Extern - Emergency position at NVA General Practice?
Emergency Pet Care of Texas is a team-oriented hospital in The Woodlands area of Texas. At our hospital you will work with multiple licensed technicians with years of experience, as well as supportive doctors with over 10 years of ER/specialty background.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Emergency Pet Care of Texas are offered to students in their final clincal year of veterinary school.
