About The Role
As a Kennel Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and safety of our boarding, grooming, and hospitalized patients. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in animal care.
Responsibilities Include
- Providing daily care, feeding, and exercise for animals in the hospital and boarding facility
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment (kennels, cages, runs, wards)
- Bathing and basic grooming of pets
- Monitoring animal behavior and alerting veterinary staff of any concerns
- Assisting team members with basic handling and animal husbandry
- Supporting a positive, team-oriented culture
- Frequently lift and carry patients weighing 50 lbs., and walk/handle patients weighing up to 150 lbs.
- Ability to work independently on tasks/duties assigned by your immediate supervisor
- A love for animals and a strong work ethic
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Willingness to learn and grow in the field of veterinary care
- Previous animal care experience is a plus, but not required—we’re happy to train the right person!
- Full-time position
- Flexible scheduling available
- Rotating weekends required
