We are seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team and help us provide safe, enriching experiences for pets while supporting our hospital operations.
About The Role
As a Kennel Assistant for Camp May, you will:
- Care for and play with a large number of dogs in group settings, monitoring play behavior to ensure safety and fun
- Feed and water boarding and hospitalized pets on schedule
- Administer medications to boarding and hospitalized animals (as directed)
- Safely control and restrain animals when needed
- Clean, disinfect, and sanitize kennels, play yards, animal rooms, and hospital areas
- Bathe and trim nails for pets as requested by owners
- Exercise dogs and monitor safe group play in our outdoor camp area (note: Camp May is on a hill, so this is an active, physical role)
- Transfer animals between facilities when needed
- Previous experience working with animals is strongly preferred
- Comfort and confidence around dogs of all sizes, with a solid understanding of animal behavior
- Reliability and compassion for both pets and their owners
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Part-time opportunities available
- $10–$14/hour (based on experience)
- Must be available 2–3 days per week, 7:00 am-5:30 pm, 7:00 am-12:00 pm, or 12:00 pm-5:30 pm
- Every other weekend availability required
