What You'll Do
As Assistant Hospital Manager, you'll partner directly with the Hospital Manager to help lead hospital operations while preparing for future Hospital Manager responsibilities.
Leadership
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop department managers and supervisors
- Coach leaders to build engaged, high-performing teams
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and professional development
- Help create a positive culture where employees feel supported and empowered
- Partner with department leaders across the hospital to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support multiple service areas including emergency, general practice, boarding, and client service
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency
- Help lead organizational growth as the hospital continues to expand
- Review financial statements, KPIs, labor reports, and operational metrics
- Partner with leadership on budgeting and financial planning
- Drive financial accountability while maintaining exceptional patient care
- Continue building a culture of financial transparency and shared ownership
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and long-term planning
- Support expansion of medical services and doctor growth
- Build the experience necessary to eventually lead a large veterinary hospital
We're looking for an experienced operations leader who enjoys developing people, solving complex problems, and leading through collaboration.
Qualifications Include
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing a complex, multi-department operation
- Experience leading organizations with $5M annual revenue
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L ownership, labor management, and KPI analysis
- Proven success developing managers and future leaders
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
