We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers eager to gain hands-on experience in geotechnical investigations, design, and construction oversight. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to support a variety of projects including transportation, utilities, site development, and public infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing geotechnical field investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing
- Perform field work such as soil classification, logging of boreholes, and construction observation (e.g., foundation inspections, proof-rolls, pile driving monitoring)
- Conduct laboratory soil testing and review results for consistency and accuracy
- Prepare boring logs, field reports, and assist with geotechnical engineering analyses (settlement, slope stability, bearing capacity, etc.)
- Support preparation of geotechnical reports, construction recommendations, and design documents
- Collaborate with contractors, clients, and other team members to ensure quality and timely delivery of work
- Maintain field and laboratory safety and quality control procedures
Qualifications
Education, experience, licensure, and skills- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s degree is a plus)
- E.I.T. (Engineer-in-Training) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed
- Familiarity with soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and basic geotechnical lab procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic CAD or geotechnical software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
