Detailer

DETAILER JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs the duties of keeping all company vehicles and trailers clean on the inside and out. Main areas of interest include but are not limited to: the entire interior of the cabs, areas on outside of vehicle and trailer that normal washing does not reach or clean, and assisting with overall shop cleanliness. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use various types of cleaning equipment and solutions
• Deliver exceptional customer service and present oneself in a professional manner
• Shampoos carpets and upholstery
• Vacuums floors and seats (trunk area also if applicable)
• Conditions vinyl and leather
• Cleans all trash, debris, and dirt from the interior of the vehicle
• Polishes the dashboard, steering wheel, trims and moldings inside the vehicle
• Cleans all dirt, grease, and tar from the outside exterior of vehicles and trailers
• Wax/reconditions outside of the vehicles and trailers
• Cleans all glass and mirrors on vehicles, inside and out, with the appropriate type of rag and cleaning solution
• Removes grease from the engine and other parts under the hood
• Waxes and buffs vehicles and trailers after washing
• Polishes the exterior chrome and all trim on the exterior of the vehicles and trailers using special chrome cleaners
• Uses air compressors and special equipment to dry and blow out debris on the inside and outside surface.
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools.
• Applies chemicals to surfaces to protect against spots and stains
• Uses various paints, waxes and dyes to protect the leather parts of a vehicles interior
• Uses hoses and pumps for washing and rinsing vehicles and trailers
• Cleans and dries floor mats
• Cleans and polishes wheel rims and makes them sparkle
• Cleans headlights, brake lights, and taillights making them brighter
• Fixes minor scratches and chips with touch-up paint
• Manages the inventory of cleaning supplies
• Complete daily truck inspections
• Observes work carefully in order to anticipate problems early and adopts safety measures
• Oversees the safety aspects of work environment and makes sure they are upheld
• Washes towels and rags used while performing work duties
• Maintains cleanliness and supplies in the shop, locker room, and bathroom

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be detail oriented, active listener, and exercise sound judgement
• Excellent time management skills and multi-tasker
• Capable of lifting (75 lbs.), pulling, and climbing in and out of a truck several times a day
• Able to work out doors in all weather and driving conditions
• Ability to work a schedule that may require some holiday and weekend shifts
• Work with minimal supervision
• Attentive with good observation skills
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
