Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist/Inside Sales to join our fast-paced operations team. In this role, you will be the vital link ensuring accurate, efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments while providing exceptional inside sales support. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, order fulfillment, and inventory stocking will drive seamless operations and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Manage the receipt, inspection, and documentation of inbound shipments using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders with precision, utilizing order pickers, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and forklifts as needed.
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain organized stock levels through effective stocking, inventory management in QuickBooks systems, and regular cycle counts to support warehouse distribution efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales team by providing product availability updates, processing customer orders via Quick Books, and supporting order fulfillment.
- Ensure proper packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transit while optimizing space utilization for cost-effective distribution.
- Assist customers directly by answering inquiries related to product availability, order status, or delivery timelines, contributing to a positive customer experience.
- Deliver orders to local customers and drop off shipments at local shippers.
Qualifications
- Proven warehouse experience with familiarity in shipping & receiving operations.
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely; certification preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar ERP platforms, RF scanners, and MRP software.
- Strong basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and order calculations.
- Knowledge of order picking & packing processes within a warehouse distribution environment.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload trucks efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
