NUWAY Alliance is currently looking for candidates to work at our Admin location in South Minneapolis in a full-time capacity as an Intake & Admissions Navigator. The ideal candidate would have past experience in mental health or substance abuse experience.
Position Overview
Working with the Central Access Counselor(s) and Central Access Supervisor this position is responsible for assuring the internal admissions process, alignment of client funding sources is in place. This will include doing benefits verifications with insurance companies and the counties. This position will assist in client transportation to and from locations outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro. The Central Access Coordinator must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.

Other Responsibilities
- Provide individuals and families with assistance to help them achieve successful enrollments into public or private health insurance coverage through MNSure marketplace
- Attempt to provide assistance to any consumer who contacts them for help
- Comply with MnSure’s data privacy and security standards and conflict of interest disclosure requirements
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Age 21 or older
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass Minnesota DHS background study.
- Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
- Possess maturity, patience, understanding and empathy with recovering individuals and work with a multidisciplinary team.
- Competent computer skills and able to effectively enter information in various systems
- Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time. Daily use of computer, phone, and other office equipment. Lifting (max 25 pounds), minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Ability to effectively navigate program or office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing program/office facilities.
- Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English. Able to effectively document services in writing formatted in English.
- High School GED or equivalent
- 1-year related experience in a compensated driving position
- Six months to a year with a working knowledge in the field of Chemical Dependency
