Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Create and maintain preventive maintenance schedules on machinery, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, equipment such as tube or bottle fillers, packaging equipment such as cartoners, case tapers, labelers, lot coders, shrink tunnels, sealers and mixing equipment.
- Operate Human Machine Interface controllers (HMIs) for troubleshooting automation and system adjustments.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to accurately diagnose problems.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and schedule future inspections to keep logs of work completed up to date.
- Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Lead or support team members in manufacturing environments to keep production operating.
- Assist with Machine commissioning, write and execute Installation and Operation Qualifications on equipment.
- Identify trouble areas and inform department heads of recurring problems and propose corrective action plan(s) with preventative measures.
- Follow established SOP’s and help create new ones as needed.
- Maintain an organized maintenance shop, including keeping spare parts inventory accurate.
- Be present at line startup(s) and observe the equipment while it’s running to ensure proper use and functioning.
- Any additional duties as assigned by the Lead and/or Supervisor
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and manufacturing environments.
- Good communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills using a methodical problem-solving approach by applying sequential processes, rationalized action plans and root cause analysis so that packaging machines can be repaired in a safe and expedited manner.
- Practical knowledge of machine controls, sensors, and actuators.
- Previous experience in a high-speed packaging environment utilizing GMP (previous experience working in an FDA regulated environment is a plus).
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma required
- Engineering Apprenticeship, certifications or degree in applicable field strongly preferred
- Experience with machine diagnostic.
