Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented WordPress Developer who takes pride in writing clean, efficient code and delivering work that exceeds expectations. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and thrives in a collaborative environment where creativity and accountability go hand in hand.
You should have a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end development, enjoy problem-solving, and be comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced agency setting. Key Responsibilities
- Web Development & Optimization:
Build, refine, and optimize responsive websites using WordPress, ACF, and modern web technologies to deliver seamless, high-performance experiences that meet accessibility and SEO standards.
- Analytics & SEO Integration:
Implement and manage Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and other analytics tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Quality Assurance:
Test, debug, and ensure all website updates meet performance, design, and accessibility expectations across browsers and devices.
- Collaboration:
Work closely with NUVEW’s design and marketing teams to translate PSD or Figma designs into production-ready code and continuously identify opportunities for site improvements.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Recommend and implement modern tools, frameworks, and development standards to improve site scalability, flexibility, and conversion performance.
- Maintenance & Deployment:
Manage hosting environments, handle code deployments, and ensure site reliability through proactive maintenance and CI/CD best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience building dynamic, responsive websites.
- Proven experience with WordPress, including headless architecture using ACF.
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and familiarity with frameworks like jQuery, Angular.js, or Ember.js.
- Experience with modern hosting providers and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Relevant PHP experience for WordPress customizations.
- Ability to translate PSD or Figma designs into clean, production-ready code.
- Experience with analytics and SEO tools (Google Analytics, GTM) is a plus.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards and mobile-first design principles.
- Familiarity with API integrations and third-party tools (e.g., Google Maps).
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Interest in marketing and user behavior to align technical solutions with business strategy is a plus.
Work Environment
- This position operates in a hybrid environment, requiring three days per week in our Crown Point, IN office after the probationary period.
