Title: Quality Technician
Reports to: Quality Manager
Position Classification: Non-exempt; Hourly
Position Status: Full-time
Required Skills/Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality audits on finished materials, purchased products and manufacturing processes
- Initiate corrective actions for process and product related issues
- Report audit summary to the quality staff
- New Product launches
- Assist in developing audit plans
- Perform product audits
- Generates quality issues lists
- Participate in problem solving
- Support existing product design changes
- Assist in identifying potential quality concerns
- Assist in verifying ECO changes are implemented as written
- Supplier Quality
- Disposition of non-conforming parts
- Process MRRs and VRMAs
- Assist in managing of Supplier Corrective Actions
- Assist in maintaining the incoming inspection data base
- The ability to read prints and understand associated standards and specifications
- Make product quality decisions based on customer specifications and standards
- Assist in managing gage, tool and fixture calibration activity
- Assist in the development of process work instructions and control plans
- Perform internal quality system audits
- Participate in surveillance and recertification audits of various quality standards
- Assist with training plant personnel
- Maintain quality documents in a neat and orderly manner
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Program
- Consistently work in a safe manner
- Maintain professional behavior and attitude
- Maintain reasonable and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Occasional bending and lifting and/or moving product weighing up to 15 pounds
- This position requires a physical presence on Nuvar’s premises with a minimum of an eight-hour day for five days with some overtime

Work Environment
This position is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment which contains dust and material particles in the air but will also require the use of a computer in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is low and may require the use of personal protective gear when in the manufacturing area. These work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
