What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Nuvantis Health LLC?
Typical Work Activities:
- Assists new residents in adjusting to unit, philosophy and goals.
- Report to Charge Nurse any accident or change of condition of resident and documents on progress notes in chart.
- Discusses clinical issues regarding resident care with Charge Nurse.
- Works as a member of the interdisciplinary team to Assist with preparation, implementation and continuing evaluation of the care plan.
- Observes, records and reports progress or any change in resident's condition.
- Updates the care plan as needed.
- Carries out therapeutic treatments.
- Administers and dispenses medications (with exception of I.V.) to residents, observing for side effects and effectiveness.
- Secures/accounts for control drugs.
- Maintains nursing care and administrative records and reports.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A) Completion of a course of study approved by the New York State Education Department as qualifying for Licensed Practical Nurse and licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State; or
- B) Completion of a course of study approved by the New York State Education Department as qualifying for Licensed Practical Nurse and a limited permit * to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State. Possession of license within six months of appointment.
