What are the responsibilities and job description for the City of Jasper-Rural Public Transportation Driver/TXDOT position at Nutrition & Services for Seniors?
Hiring a Driver that lives in the city of Jasper ONLY!
This position is a subsidiary of the Department of Transportation (DOT), you must be able to pass a DOT Drug screen and physical, and you will be subject to regular drug screening.
Responsibilities:
- Drives clients between medical appointments/ shopping & home
- Loads Wheelchairs and properly uses the ratcheting system
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and dispatchers
- Safely operate TXDOT Vehicle
- Maintain accurate and detailed paperwork
- Assist client in and out of vehicle/ facilities
- Maintain all credentialing required by the corresponding agency
(The company covers the cost of credentialing)
Requirements:
-Must be 23 or older
-Must pass a background check
-Must pass physical and drug screen
-Must be flexible with scheduled hours
-Must pass Motor Vehicle Records Check
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience in paratransit, school bus driving, or commercial driving is a plus
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
