Healthcare / Senior Living Dining Operations
We are seeking a hands-on Working Dining Services Director to lead all aspects of food service operations for a mixed-use healthcare and senior living community serving:
- 35 Skilled Nursing residents
- 35 Independent Living residents
- Adult Day Center participants (approximately 25 daily)
This is an ideal opportunity for a strong operational leader who is comfortable working in both the kitchen and dining environment while overseeing staff, service, compliance, and overall department performance.
The ideal candidate is a working manager — someone who leads from the front, supports the team during meal service, and takes ownership of the entire dining program.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily dining services operations for Skilled Nursing, Independent Living, and Adult Day meal service
- Supervise and lead a unionized dining services team
- Manage staffing, scheduling, labor, and daily department workflow
- Ensure high standards of food quality, resident satisfaction, hospitality, and service execution
- Oversee food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory compliance
- Ensure accurate execution of therapeutic diets, textures, nourishments, and meal service standards
- Manage purchasing, receiving, inventory, and food/supply cost controls
- Lead staff training, accountability, coaching, and performance management
- Maintain survey readiness and department compliance at all times
- Work closely with nursing, administration, and clinical leadership to support resident care and dining excellence
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of food service leadership experience, preferably in:
- Skilled Nursing
- Senior Living
- Long-Term Care
- Healthcare Dining
- Prior experience managing a union workforce strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- Food safety and sanitation
- Therapeutic diets
- Staffing and scheduling
- Purchasing and inventory
- Healthcare dining operations
- ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
- CDM/CFPP a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness to work as a hands-on department leader, not just an office-based manager
Salary : $62,000 - $65,000
