Position Summary
Nutrition Management Services Company is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced Director of Dining Services to lead and oversee all aspects of our dietary department. The Director of Dining Services will be responsible for the planning, organization, and management of meal preparation, nutrition compliance, dining room service, and department staffing.
This individual must have a strong commitment to resident-centered care, nutrition excellence, and staff leadership. We are looking for a leader who is hands-on, highly organized, and deeply passionate about making every meal an experience that nourishes body and soul.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the Dining Services Department, including food preparation, service, and sanitation
Plan and coordinate menus in collaboration with the Registered Dietitian to meet the specialized nutritional needs of residents
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies (e.g., DOH, DHS, CMS) and sanitation standards (ServSafe, HACCP)
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise dietary staff, ensuring high levels of performance and resident satisfaction
Maintain department budget, control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses
Implement resident-focused meal programs that enhance choice, dignity, and quality of life
Lead department in providing exceptional service during meals, special events, and holiday celebrations
Actively participate in interdisciplinary care planning and Quality Assurance activities
Foster a positive, collaborative culture consistent with the mission and values of the facility
Who We're Looking For
Prior experience as a Food Service Director or Manager in a healthcare or special needs environment
Strong understanding of modified diets, IDDSI, allergens, and regulatory compliance
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Compassionate and respectful approach to working with adults with disabilities
ServSafe Certification (required)
CDM preferred, or willing to obtain
